The face of Che Guevara has become an iconic image, used as a symbol of protest as well as in pop-culture such as fashion accessories and street art. How can I leave Havana (Cuba) without a photo of the poster boy, right? When I took this shot, I did not pay attention to the words on the wall. It is a shame that I did not even realize that this is one of his most famous quotes!
“Hasta la victoria siempre” translates to “Until victory always“.
Superb shot, Jeremy. You almost didn’t get the quote in – unless you cropped the shot 😀 I suppose it was a victory for you to take this shot of such an iconic icon. Also, lovely that the sky was plain, cloudy. Makes the foreground and important message stand out.

Plain white sky is a taboo in photography, but I thought it worked out well here and I’m happy that someone else appreciates it too. Thanks, Mabel!

Great choice for the Victory theme. An iconic image and powerful words in one photo, awesome!
Thank you for taking us around the world through WPC, Jeremy! Any country you have not traveled? 🙂

Around the world … 27 countries now, and adding India (for work, not leisure) to the list next week. It seems that I travel a lot but ironically I’m actually a person who prefers to stay at home and read a book instead 🙂

I’m wondering, this must be the work of the same artist who did a silhouette of Eva Peron on a building in Buenos Aires, the style is so similar!

Honestly, I didn’t know about the Eva Peron image on the Buenos Aires building and therefore I googled it. They are strikingly similar indeed! It’s always good to learn something new from fellow bloggers. Cheers!

Fascinating choice for the theme! Would this happen to be the same mural US President Obama just did a photo-shoot in front of?
