Ginzan Onsen (Japan)

Wooden inns, gas lamps and heavy snowfall all add to the nostalgic ambience in Ginzan Onsen, a famous hot spring area in Japan.

    That is an awesome photo.
I love older pictures of Japan. I have a link to some 1950’s pictures. I was going to post it here…but that didn’t seem right without your permission. Let me know if you want the link.

This is such a lovely picture, I love winter and snow and together with these gas lamps and all the tiny roofs filled with snow is like looking at an old fairy tale.

A very dreamy shot, Jeremy. Very pure, soft and fluffy, like what fairytales are often made out of. I don’t know how you shot this, but maybe you did it from inside a warm building 🙂

I was standing next to one of those lamp posts and had to hold an umbrella with one hand to protect my camera from the wet, fluffy snow. The inns actually prepare traditional Japanese umbrellas for their guests. I guess everyone wants to take a stroll in this beautiful atmosphere, even though it is super cold 🙂

Oh wow, I agree with the earlier comment that this should be made as a Christmas card! How was it like experiencing the winter and snow over there?
