My quest for Wonder … the ruins of Machu Picchu. Just like many things in life, there is an easy way of getting there via a 20 minutes bus ride and there is also a tough way of doing a 3-day hike along the Inca Trial. I took the latter option.
I want to make a photo, not just take a photo. I do not need another postcard shot. I do not want myself in the picture. And I do not like to see colorful tourists dotting the ruins. So I decided to shootΒ it in black/white to illustrate the mysterious nature and rawness of the ancient site.
Very effective in black and white.

Beautifully done, Jeremy. And the first time you explained your thoughts while creating the shot. BW works so well in bringing out the architecture and the light falling all over it. So grand, and a big piece of history. The hike was worth it π

Yes, you achieved it, Jeremy!! I have never seen a photo of the ruins of Machu Picchu in B&W. This image says so much of the majesty of the place, better than any of the photos of this ruins I have seen. I mean it!!

Your choice of B&W is amazing, and does indeed enhance the mystery of Machu Picchu. Did the three day inka trail hike to it a little while ago (years). Peru is an incredible place… !
